Botanic name Penstemon digitalis
Also known as Foxglove Penstemon, Smooth Penstemon
Bloom color white tubular flowers with pink/purple lines at the throat

Growth habit forms clump, easy to grow, self seeds

Soil medium moisture to dry in a variety of soils; tolerates dry shade
Uses in perennial borders, wild gardens, native plant gardens, or naturalized areas of prairies, fields, wood margins, and open woods
Attracts birds, butterflies, and bumblebees, good nectar source
Other This plant has no serious insect or disease problems and is deer resistant. Can be divided when plant is big enough. Penstemon in Greek means five stamens. Four are fertile and one is sterile.
